My Passions

I have a lot of passions, perhaps more than I should have to fill my cup of tea. So I will be using these blog posts to record them.....enjoy!!:)

STORIES

I find stories to be really fascinating. You always get to learn something from them. I think that everything has a story - even the keyboard I am typing in though I could scarcely say that it could tell me about its story. I am sure if it could, however, I would still have a lesson to learn from it. What I am aiming at here is that stories - all of them - have a tale to tell and you a lesson to learn from them.

I think that every story has a protagonist but who it is would depend on who the storyteller is. I have heard more people than I'd care to mention, think that they are the side characters and it always fumbles me because I think that everyone is the writer of their own story. A story's protagonist could very well become the antagonist for the story from just a slight change in perspective. Consequently, we all are the protagonists of our own stories we write and define who we are or want to be - we ourselves write our own stories and decide what genre we want them to be. In life, no one is a side character you might be the hero of your story and so are the others.

Annddd that's enough of me rambling moving on to the next topic-

BOOKS!

I read a lot of them after all - 'All the secrets of the world are given in a book. Read at your own risk'. If you decide to ignore that warning and move on anyway then here are some of my favorite books and authors...

BOOK #1

One of my most cherished books would be the book thief. It is about the life of a girl narrated by death. Based on the times of the nazi regime this book will steal your heart and break it in the end. One of the reasons I like this book is because of its tragic end whilst ending tragically it still mages to leave the reader enraptured and leases you a strong sense of peaceful foreboding in the end...

BOOK #2

This book is also a story from the nazi regime (am I the only one or do you also see a pattern here) and is about the life of a boy named Bruno, his family, and his friend on the other side of the fence.

P.S - when I first read this book I did not know this was set in the holocaust period and ended up pretty clueless as to what period it was set in until I read the ending.

BOOK #3

Join rusty and his friend as they make the trip to the magic mountain. You shall be greeted by more than a few tigers(and unless you get eaten by them on the way), monkeys, little people, a one-eyed chokidar( with conflicting intentions), a mad rani, and her beautiful daughter, and a few dozen crows on your journey(all perhaps in search of a valuable treasure). There also might be a few hair-raising events for the weak of heart. So read at your own risk and remember what meets the eye may not always be the truth and the sad truth is that truth is sad.

BOOK #4

This is the first volume of thirteen more but I'll warn you - unsuspecting reader, to not read this book (as the author also does countless times throughout the book) leave it and put it in a place you shall never find or know about the misery of the Baudelaire's children but if you do decide to pick it up (which of course you will) do not blame me if you find yourself on the thirteenth volume...

These are some of my top recommendations on books. I hope you like reading them as much as I did and learn something from them at the same time.
then until next time:)
